About us

Charles G. Cooper established Cooper Investment Company in 1970 at the same location where we still do business today.

Over the past 46 years, many things have changed about the investment business, but the personal, one-on-one service philosophy of Cooper Investment Company has never changed. "We basically offer down-to-earth investments for the ordinary person."

Over time, the firm has established a broad client base and generates new business mostly by word of mouth. The members of Cooper Investment Company have combined experience of over 100 years in the investment business.

T. Greg Cooper

President

Greg Cooper, a lifelong resident of Onslow County, graduated from Jacksonville High School and then East Carolina University. Greg joined his father's business shortly after graduating from ECU, and has been with the company since 1990. Greg is married to the former Angie Smith of Hickory, NC and has two daughters, Abby and Sarah.

Greg is a member and past President of the Jacksonville Breakfast Rotary Club, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Jacksonville/Onslow Chamber of Commerce, the Boys and Girls Club of Onslow County, The Onslow Sports Club, The Onslow ECU Pirate Club, and the Coastal Carolina Community College Foundation. Greg is an Investment Advisor Representative of Osaic Wealth, Inc. Member FINRA, SIPC.

Catherine Gauthier

General Operations/Registered Assistant

Catherine Gauthier is originally from the San Francisco Area. She is married to a retired United States Marine. Before being stationed in Jacksonville, NC, she lived in New Orleans, LA and San Diego, CA.

Catherine has been in the Financial Services field since 1997. She has been a member of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville South and Rolling Thunder NC-5, a non-profit organization that publicizes POW-MIA issues to educate the public. She is involved in animal rescue and donates both time and money to various rescue organizations, including Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary in Hubert, NC.

Eleanor Cooper

Corporate Secretary

Eleanor is a graduate of New Hanover High School in Wilmington, and was married to Charlie Cooper for 56 years. Eleanor has been an integral part of Cooper Investment Company since the beginning and handles bookkeeping for the company. Eleanor also enjoys being a member of the Emerald Isle Garden Club.
